     The West Seattle Martial Arts Alki Taekwondo was founded in 1982 by Master Steve Coates 7th Dan) to promote the traditional Korean martial art of Taekwondo (Korean Karate)  Alki Taekwondo is located just 1 minute from beautiful Alki Beach in West Seattle and just 2 minutes from the Alki Lighthouse.  We teach the original style of I.T.F. Taekwondo founded by Grandmaster General Choi Hong Hi, April 11th 1955.  Training also includes joint locks & throws from other Korean styles such as Kuk Sool Won, Hapkido and Hawrang-Do and the traditional sword techniques of the Korean warriors.  Alki TKD welcomes students of all ages and abilities from new beginners to advanced martial artists regardless of style.  Master Steve Coates is a fun, innovative instructor who will surely bring out your hidden talents and push you to reach your personal best!
