About Alki Taekwondo

Alki Tae Kwon Do's roots goes back over 40 years ago with Lee Chin Ho's School of Martial Arts in the West Seattle Junction.  Master Lee went on to work for the Department of Justice.  The original school closed down in the early 1980s.  This was one of the first Korean martial arts schools on the West Coast of the United States.  Since that time, Mr. Coates has successfully opened 8 training centers around the U.S. (Long Beach, CA., Minnesota, Cleveland, Ohio, Berkeley, CA., Bellevue, WA., and multiple centers in Seattle, WA.

Alki Tae Kwon Do is a reflection of Grandmaster Lee's original intention, to provide a martial arts program that equips students with the best self defense techniques and personal safety training available today.

Our instructors are all trained and certified with the Koryo Moo Sool Association.  Instructors have a thorough background check.  All of our training staff are excellent with people of all ages, from early childhood to seniors.

Alki Tae Kwon Do provides students with a safe environment to learn Tae Kwon Do.  Students benefit tremendously from the exercises, self defense training and traditional Tae Kwon Do Program.  Many of our students have been referred to our classes by the medical and counseling communities due to attention difficulties, and the need for self discipline and focus development.  We pride ourselves on treating each student with respect and honor.  Every student is allowed to train at their own pace, without pressure to perform or meet strict requirements.
